Burlington, NC Housing Market Makes National List for Growth

According to reports from several North Carolina news organizations, the market for new homes in Burlington, NC continues to show steady signs of improvement.

In early July 2012, the National Association of Home Builders cited Burlington and many additional North Carolina locations to be among 84 areas in the country where housing markets have enjoyed continued improvement throughout 2012.

The study, conducted by NAHB is called the “First American Improving Markets Index.” It follows trends in new building permits issued, house prices and employment over two fiscal quarters. It compares growth based on the low-point of the recession.

According to the study Burlington and Alamance County areas showed:

·  A 3.4% improvement in employment since January 2010.
·   A 3.1% growth in housing prices since December 2010.
·    A 1% increase in building permits over January 2011.

This marks the fourth time Burlington has been included in the list since spring.

The National Association of Home Builders is a Washington-based trade association representing more than 140,000 members involved in home building, remodeling, multifamily construction, property management, subcontracting, design, housing finance, building product manufacturing and other aspects of residential and light commercial construction.
